Glenway TIF District

In 2009, Price Hill Will completed the Glenway Market Study and Redevelopment Plan for which it received the Frank F. Ferris II Community Planning Award from the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission. While initially unable to acquire the needed land, Price Hill Will did purchase 11 parcels along Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill in late 2013. Three of the parcels contained blighted buildings which were razed in partnership with the Hamilton County Land Reutilization Corporation (Land Bank). Price Hill Will hopes to acquire more land in the area and partner with a developer to create mixed-use development; bringing new business and residents to the community.

W. Eighth and Overlook

This was the former site of the Butterkist Bakery building, a mixed-use property, built in 1927, slab on grade, with (4) retail spaces on the lower level and (4) one bedroom apartments on the upper level. The other building that formerly occupied the site was a convenience store built in 1975. Sometime later, a cell tower was placed between the 2 buildings. Over the years, the properties transferred ownership several times and the Butterkist Building became vacant and deteriorated. The convenience store and its parking lot became a magnet for many types of crime. The site had become a dangerous, blighted eyesore at a prominent corner in West Price Hill. Price Hill Will (PHW) acquired these properties in 2015 for the initial purpose of site control and nuisance elimination. Long-term plans involved creating a new, mixed-use development. The Hamilton County Land Reutilization Corporation generously agreed to raze both building on PHW’s behalf, but required temporary ownership of the Butterkist building due to their funding restrictions. The ownership of the now vacant Butterkist site will revert to Price Hill Will when needed for future development.  In 2016 Price Hill Will was awarded 2 million dollars from the Cincinnati City Council for a new use development demonstrating great interest in the economic vitality of this West Price Hill business node.
