Healthy Living and Gardening
Price Hill Will in collaboration with local non-profits, schools, and the Price Hill Rec Center currently has five community gardens for residents’ use and enjoyment. Each of our gardens gets residents out-of-doors, working together in the soil to grow fresh vegetables that they can take home to share with family and friends, improving nutrition and supplementing diets.
We also strive to create a supportive environment for hands-on learning, experimentation, observation, and life skill development around growing and eating healthy foods, maintaining a natural ecosystem, and living a healthy lifestyle. Each of our gardens offer extra opportunities for engagement, things like recipe swaps, cooking classes, language classes, arts activities or yoga. We are proud of the friendships born out of our gardens, bringing our neighbors together, building bridges between the various socio-economic and cultural groups in our community.
Every Thursday from 4-6pm at the Beech Avenue Community Garden we host Garden GetTogethers. We help each other care for the communal gardening areas, work on personal gardening projects, share in harvests and celebrate with games, snacks and music. Everyone’s welcome! Seeds and tools are supplied, come plant some food or a flower, or just hang out! Contact Josh to get involved: firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-251-3800 ext.101

Location: 1702 Grand Avenue
A Front Yard bilingual communal garden that engages residents as well as providing an outdoor classroom for the students at the school. Contact Josh to get involved: firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-251-3800 ext.101
Schiff Public Orchard
Location: 1098 Schiff Avenue
We grow an ecologically expanding orchard; it gives more than it takes. Through commonly held work and harvest, we create a local food bank, stored in the land we share. This orchard not only feeds our neighbors, it provides for local insect life, stores carbon in the trees and soil, and helps sink rainwater into the ground.
