Join us for the 3rd Annual Community Plant Swap at the Arts Center at Dunham!
DATE: Saturday, May 20
TIME: 9 am – 12pm
ADMISSION COST: FREE
PLANT SALE ITEMS: They go fast so arrive early!
A GREAT CAUSE: A portion of sales the day of the event, and later purchases at these businesses (with the special flyer), will benefit the programming and ongoing restoration of the Arts Center.
At this free event, gardeners young and old can swap plants, bulbs and seeds from flowers, vegetables, fruits and trees with other local gardeners and pick up new plants for their gardens.
Swap participants should bring their plants in a container (pot or bags). Plants should be labelled with information including plant name, light and water requirement, height, spread, color, bloom time and picture of the bloom or mature plant. (Internet print outs work great!)
Plants will be grouped by light requirement.
The swap will begin at 9 am for those who have brought plants to swap.
NO PLANTS? NO PROBLEM! 🙂
No plants to swap, but interested in starting a garden? Come at 10 am to select any remaining plants, bulbs or seeds.
Volunteers from the Hamilton County Master Gardener Program will be on hand to help place plants and answer as many questions as they can. This is a great way to get a garden started for free!
In addition to the free swap items, limited quantities of flowering annuals, vegetable plants and hanging baskets from our local greenhouse partner will be available for sale.
These items sold out quickly last year. As they say in gardening circles…”the early bird catches the worm.”
FLYERS FOR GARDEN PARTNERS:
Flyers will distributed for more extensive shopping from May 20 th through June 11 th at our three 2017 “community beautification partners” – Allison Landscaping & Water Gardens, Robben Florist and Garden Center and Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop.
A portion of sales the day of the event, and later purchases at these businesses (with the special flyer), will benefit the programming and ongoing restoration of the Arts Center.
